Beeing is Believing
Work that builds skill, structure, and confidence.
Based in Dayton, Texas, this program provides hands-on work for individuals who have struggled to find the right fit in traditional jobs. Through beekeeping and land-based work, participants learn by doing, not sitting.
Hive Building
Building and preparing hive boxes from start to finish.
Beekeeping & Harvest
Working directly with bees and harvesting real honey.
Gardens & Land Work
Planting, maintaining, and supporting pollination.
Not Everyone Thrives Sitting Still
Many of the individuals in this program came from environments where they were expected to learn and work in ways that did not match how they process information.
Some were placed in special education programs. Some completed life skills tracks that did not translate into employment. Many were ready to work but did not have the right setting to do it.
Here, the work is physical, structured, and repeatable. That difference matters.
"Founded by Heather and Michael Hanvy, Beeing is Believing exists to give individuals with learning differences a place to build real skills through hands-on work. Our mission is simple: create an environment where people can learn, contribute, and grow with purpose."
The Hanvy Vision
Built on Experience
Beeing is Believing was founded by Heather and Michael Hanvy.
Heather is a certified diagnostician with over a decade of experience working with individuals with autism, ADHD, and other learning differences. Her background in education shapes how the program is structured and how participants are supported.
Michael brings years of hands-on experience and a deep understanding of building, land work, and beekeeping. Together, they have created an environment that blends structure with real-world application.
In 2026, Beeing is Believing partnered with Hives for Heroes, expanding the impact of beekeeping as a hands-on practice that supports both skill-building and well-being.

A Real Story
Aniya came into the program unsure of her path. She had an interest in working with animals but struggled to find opportunities.
Through Beeing is Believing, she began with simple tasks like painting hive boxes and planting. Over time, she learned how to work with the bees, harvest honey, and even helped design product labels.
What started as a short internship turned into something more. She gained confidence, developed new skills, and chose to continue working in the program.
Her experience helped shape what Beeing is Believing is today.

Support the Expansion
Growth is simple. More space, more materials, and more resources mean more people can participate.
Every hive built, every garden planted, and every jar of honey produced supports both the operation and the individuals doing the work.
If you want to be part of that growth, there is a place for you here.
